GSP Picked Up Three Nonstops in 56 Days. All Three Are Breeze, and Only Two Fly Year-Round.

Greenville-Spartanburg International added three new nonstops between May 8 and July 3, all of them on Breeze Airways. Columbus launched May 8, Monday and Friday, announced back on January 28. Fort Lauderdale launched July 2, Thursday through Monday on four days, year-round. Cincinnati / Northern Kentucky launched July 3, Monday and Friday, seasonal. First launch to third is 56 days.

The seasonal label on the Cincinnati route is not a footnote. Two of the three run year-round, one is a summer proposition, and a household planning a Thanksgiving trip on it will find the schedule has other ideas.

Frequency is the other number to hold onto. Monday and Friday service is built for the person who leaves for work and comes home again, not for the person who needs Wednesday. Two departures a week is access rather than convenience, and it is how most routes at this size of airport begin before they either thicken or quietly go away.

Scale check. GSP handled 3,043,621 passengers in 2025, up 5.7 percent from 2,880,480 in 2024 and a record year. The first half of 2026 is tracking about 4.0 percent ahead of that. Airport communications manager Tiffany Cherry has put expected 2026 growth at roughly 4 to 5 percent, which is a spokesperson's read rather than a published forecast, and it squares with what the first six months actually did.

Two of the three routes, Columbus and Cincinnati, are Midwest corridors that used to require a Charlotte or Atlanta connection. Fort Lauderdale closes the loop for the household keeping one address in the Carolinas and one in Florida. Airlines do not add capacity on sentiment. They add it when the seat math clears an internal hurdle, and at an airport this size that math is fed by people moving in.

So the useful version for a relocator. The Midwest executive who priced this move two years ago was pricing a two-leg trip back to the kids. That trip is now nonstop on two days a week. Smaller than three new nonstops sounds, and still a real change to the friction line.
